Masala Papad Recipe - Crunchy & Tasty

One of the eternal questions of life!! Why the hell is fried stuff so delicious?? The awesomeness of the fried foods and the fat content in them will be the death of me one of these days. *Sigh* Khair, that does not mean that we stop eating them, does it? Just means that we start cooking intelligently. 8)

So, I decided to spend some of my spare time (Oh, is that hard to find!) in a cooking class. This particular one was focused on microwave cooking. And I thought, ahhh that would be something my single friends whose kitchen appliances run only to microwaves might find interesting.

The first thing, which caught my mind was the awesome recipe for Masala Papad. Now my mind conjured up a fried crunchy papad that me and my gang used to enjoy at a hatri just outside my college. *Memories* But let me tell you darlings, I was majorly surprised to see that a microwaved papad could give the look of a fried papad just as well and taste even better!!

So here comes the recipe. Try it out and love me more. *Muah*

INGREDIENTS:

•  Lijjat papad – 2
•  Refined oil – 2 tsp
•  Garam masala – ¼ tsp
•  Red Chilli powder – ¼ tsp
•  Tomato – ½
•  Onion – ½

METHOD TO PREPARE FILLING:

•   Mix the red chilli powder and garam masala in the oil. Set it aside.
•   Spread the oil mixture on the papads.
•  Spread a newspaper, place one papad on top of it. Spread the tomato and onion on the papad. Place the second papad on top of the first one (in the form of a cover).
•  Cover the papads completely with newspaper.
•  Put in the microwave and micro for 2 minutes.
•  Serve hot.
