So this dish has been passed down from generation to generation. Ohk so in this case, I was given the recipe by my younger sister. At least it passed the generation tag. Humph. In any case, I decided to make use of the perfect opportunity of having friends come home and try out this recipe.
Ok fine, so it did take me an hour to make out these fashionable paneer cigars, but trust me, even I have not seen my *sophisticated* group of friends fight over a dish as they did over my cigars. It was definitely a sight to behold. So sweeties, try out this absolutely awesome recipe and become my slave forever!!
INGREDIENTS:
· Samosa patti - 5
· Maida (mixes in water) - 1 tbsp
· Oil to fry
FOR THE FILLING:
· Mashed paneer - ¾ cup
· Green onion (finely sliced) - ¼ cup
· Chilli-garlic sauce/paste - 1 tbsp
· Mozerella cheese - ¼ cup
· 2 tsp oil
· Salt to taste
METHOD TO PREPARE FILLING:
· Heat the oil in a pan and fry the green onions till golden brown.
· Add the rest of the stuff and mix well.
· Cook for 2 minutes and make 10 equal portions. Set aside.
METHOD TO PROCEED:
· Cut the samosa patti into 2 halves each.
· Mix the maida and water to make a paste. Set aside.
· Take one portion of the filling and keep it on one corner of the samosa patti. Start rolling from the corner where you have kept the filling and make a cigar shape.
· Close the corner of the cigar with a small amount of the maida paste.
· Repeat the process with the remaining pattis.
· Fry the cigars in oil till they turn golden brown. Put out on absorbent paper.
· Serve with garlic sauce.
